The Doorman is an ancient, strong, huuuge cosmic entity that i cannot truly fathom (nice slork reference). but what his bio says in deadlock is true-- he assumed a human form to see what life was like on this material plane! he was so tickled by all the strange demands mortals have, that he's stayed for much longer than he originally planned!!
He works at The Baroness Hotel in The Cursed Apple (New York City, Manhattan). He's a humble doorman and takes pride in his work and in the hotel! The Baroness Hotel is fancy, and used to be the most haunted hotel in the usa before some "gastly business in macomb [the troubadour massacre] pulled a lot of midwest spectres". but its still the best hotel in the world!!!!
The Doorman's powers in the game involve portals, luggage carts, explosive call bells, and his ult send someone to a parkour fucked up hallway of the baroness, more details here! And in his power up lines and such while he uses these powers, he mentions bending space and time, the baroness calling from across the cosmos, and what have you... well i do know he does have cosmic powers irl! im sure he can summon a luggage cart and huge explosive AOE bell if he wanted but that's not something he, like.... does. lol. but he does do the portals, and his use of summoning doors out of nowhere to reload his gun (called Service with a Smile, he has this irl but it doesnt have the giant key ring on it, and it just shoots regular (though enchanted/magic!) bullets) and to parry and such is accurate, he uses mini portals a lot.
his voice lines and attitude are spot on, so is his voice acting in the game!
and he currently lives in his world, but since he's a god and a soulbond he just does whatever the fuck he wants. it's 1946 in his world currently, and as of writing this (29 aug 2026/1946) there is no maelstrom, he says that will happen soon, and he is curious if the world (the world he's on, not this one) would survive the patrons granting the wish or even being summoned at their full power. guess we'll see!
